Dog fouling in the village

The Community Council has had complaints about dog fouling. It is an offence carrying an £80 fine, and a cause of toxocariasis in children. Report it to the Community Safety Team on 03033 333000. Free bags are available at Castle Douglas and Kirkcudbright libraries.

Community Council

Auchencairn Community Council

The community council is the statutory voice of the village. It meets in public, publishes its agendas, minutes and accounts, and represents local views to Dumfries and Galloway Council.

When it meets

The council meets on the second Wednesday of the month at 7pm, in the Annexe of the Murray Hall. Meetings are open to everyone who lives in the village, and there is time set aside at each one for residents to raise something. You do not need to give notice or be on an agenda to come along. If you would rather send something in ahead of a meeting — a fault to report, a question, an idea — use the contact form and it will reach the councillors before they meet.

The chair is Shameen Syed — shameen.syed@icloud.com.

Everything the council publishes is on this site. If something you need is missing, get in touch.
