Dog fouling in the village

The Community Council has had complaints about dog fouling. It is an offence carrying an £80 fine, and a cause of toxocariasis in children. Report it to the Community Safety Team on 03033 333000. Free bags are available at Castle Douglas and Kirkcudbright libraries.

Contact

Questions, concerns or something you would like raised at a meeting — send it here and a councillor will reply. Everything sent through this form reaches the whole council, so it does not sit in one person’s inbox while they are away.

So a councillor can reply. It is not published anywhere.

Optional — only if you would rather be telephoned.

If it is about a particular place, please say where.

What you send is read by the community council and kept only so that it can be answered. It is not published on the website.

Or speak to somebody

If you would rather talk to a person than fill in a form, the councillors and what each of them looks after are listed on the councillors page. The council also meets in public every month — the dates are on the meeting dates page, and anyone who lives in the village is welcome.

Reporting a fault with a road, a street light or a bin is Dumfries and Galloway Council’s job rather than the community council’s, and going straight to them is much quicker. Tell us as well if you would like it raised at a meeting.
