Dog fouling in the village

The Community Council has had complaints about dog fouling. It is an offence carrying an £80 fine, and a cause of toxocariasis in children. Report it to the Community Safety Team on 03033 333000. Free bags are available at Castle Douglas and Kirkcudbright libraries.

Get a village login

Most of this website needs no login at all. What is on, the halls and how to hire them, the council’s papers, the tide times and the resilience plan are open to anybody.

A login is for the few parts meant for people who live here, and for keeping track of things you have sent in or booked. It takes a minute, and there is no password to think of — we send you a link.

We send a link to it so you can choose a password. It is not published anywhere.

A login is only needed for the parts of the site meant for people who live here. Everything else — the diary, the halls, the council’s papers, the tide times — is open to anybody without one.

Helping in an emergency is different

Offering to be a resilience volunteer is a separate thing, and a coordinator decides — being a volunteer means seeing the addresses of neighbours who have asked to be checked on, so it is not something a form can grant. Start on the village resilience plan page.
